INTRODUCTION

I have a small confession to make to all of you. I may be around Computers for almost 2 decades but i have never ever used a Zalman CPU Cooler, not even tested one. I don't know how i managed that especially since Zalman is considered amongst the top CPU Cooler manufacturers of our time right next to Coolermaster and Thermaltake but i somehow i did. Anyways for the past months we started working with them so quite a few of their latest solutions have reached our hands and of course their latest CNPS10x line of CPU Coolers was amongst them. The first and latest product of this line is the CNPS10X Performa, a large CPU Cooler with a 120mm high speed fan included in the package.
Zalman Tech co., Ltd. was founded in 1999 and introduced to the computer industry the concept of 'Noiseless computing'. In a world filled with noisy computers,'silent' cooling solutions were sought everywhere and contributed to Zalman's rapid growth into the world's leader of high performance, ultra quiet PC cooling solutions. Zalman continues to lead in the industry through decisive R&D investments, peerless craftsmanship, intensive global marketing, and generous customer support. Business diversification with innovation such as 2D/3D Convertible LCD Monitors, Heatpipe Cooled Power Supplies, Notebook Coolers, Surround Sound & Dual Stereo Headphones and FPS GUN Gaming Interface holds true to Zalman's promise to provide 'Cool Innovations'.
Of course this is not the first time we have reviewed a Zalman product since as many of you already know a few months back we did an Active Ram Coolers roundup in which we had the Zalman solution and although it did not finish first its performance was very good. The CNPS10X follows the usual U type or what many know as the tower type design and considering that this is the top product in the CNPS10X line it should produce very good numbers across the board. Now Zalman also makes the CNPS10X Extreme which is not only a bit larger but also comes with a better fan than the Performa. The downside however is that unlike the Performa which supports up to two fans the Extreme only supports just the included fan and so the Performa is certain to perform better with a second fan.
