INTRODUCTION

 

 

 

 

 

 

    The usual suspects that people think of when they want to buy a power supply unit for their systems are usually Enermax, Seasonic, Coolermaster, Thermaltake, OCZ, Corsair, Silverstone and many more companies that have a long and successful history in this segment of the market. However it is not unusual to see from time to time companies that thrive on other segments making their way into this segment of the market. Scythe has been one of the leading companies in the PC Cooling segment for as long as i can remember but now they have released an high quality PSU line targeted towards gamers and enthusiasts and although the range of power output is limited i hope that can change soon.

 

 

 

 

     Scythe is one of the most known companies in the PC industry mainly because they have been making some of the best coolers around for many many years. From the Scythe Ninja to the Scythe Zipang and Mugen, there is a Scythe cooling solution virtually for every possible need a user may have. It is no coincidence that the Scythe name has been synonym to the CPU cooling for a long time and from the looks of it their name just might get synonymous with many more PC hardware related products in the years to come.

 

 

    

 

     Scythe calls their new PSU line Kamariki which means power of the sickle and you can all see that the Scythe logo contains two sickles in it. I have to say that in the beginning i was expecting something more 'Japanese' when it comes to the meaning of the word since Scythe has gotten us used to Dragons, Saolin, Ninjas and stuff. Anyways the Kamariki line is made by 450 W, 550 W, 650 W and 750 W models and so you can understand that it is not targeted for users with Quad graphics something that i hope Scythe will fix soon enough. Other than that since the 750W is not available in the EU up until today we have the next most powerful model in the line the 650W which as you will see later on easily surpassed our expectations which is something weird for a PC cooling company but certainly something nice for both Scythe and the end user.
