Final Thoughts
The SSD is the most important performance component found in a modern system today. Without it you do not even have a performance system.

Summary
Let’s quickly recap our Samsung 840 Pro 128GB arrays’ performances beginning with HD Tune. Sequential read performance at a 64KB block size topped our charts. Access times as measured with AIDA were inaccurate without a partition on the array both reading and writing. HD Tach showed our 840 Pro to have killer burst performance and incredible sequential read/write performance that scales perfectly; giving us exactly double Samsung’s specified single drive performance. ATTO performance didn’t show anything really stand out. Vantage empty performance was the second best we’ve ever run with any SATA III array of any capacity. AS SSD showed our 840 Pro array can read 4K random data faster than anything we’ve ever tested and displayed accurate access times. CDM showcased otherworldly 4K incompressible write performance as well as class leading compressible read performance. Anvil’s incompressible testing showed that our 840 Pro arrays’ in a class by itself and even smoked our Vector array. Vantage Fill Testing delivered RWL’s all-around RAID 0 performance crown to Samsung; with our 840 Pro 128GB RAID 0 array destroying all competition even our SLC based arrays.
Conclusion
More Next-Generation drives like the Samsung Pro 840 will be arriving shortly and that should have Samsung looking over their shoulder. For now at least, when Samsung is looking forward they have nothing in front of them because they are in the performance pole position. Samsung’s 840 Pro is the drive to beat and places the proverbial bull’s-eye squarely on Samsung’s’ back. SandForce was in this unique position for a long time and that forced the competition (including Samsung) to step up its game which will undoubtedly be the case here too. Marvell, Link_A_Media, OCZ and SandForce, we await your response.
