INTRODUCTION

 

 

 

 

    With all eyes turned towards the latest Radeon HD 7950 3GB version just released by AMD (people do like extra memory on products regardless of the end result) i decided to take a look at something entirely different which many of you seem to care a lot more about since not only have i seen many questions about this model around the web but also in my FB mailbox during the past month. Of course i am talking about the latest addition in the SSDNow line of SSDs (naturally) by Kingston, the SandForce based V+200 which once again we are the first World Wide to have on our test bench.

    With LSI recently buying SandForce and OCZ buying Indillinx it only makes sense that things will heat up, something which should also drop prices. Anyways much like the HyperX line of SSDs which we tested in our large SSD comparison a few months back the brand new V+200 series also feature the latest SandForce SF-2281 controller which offers the same DuraClass, DuraWrite, RAISE and of course TRIM technologies for increased data protection and reliability. However the V+200 series comes with Asynchronous NAND memory modules which as expected offer lower performance levels compared to the more high end HyperX line. However just how well does the latest V+200 do compared to other solid state drives? Well that's why we're here so read on to find out.
