With the latest increase in DirectX 11 compatible game titles (Crysis 2 anyone?) owning a good DX11 capable graphics card is a must especially if you consider yourself as being a hardcore gamer. Last time we had the chance to test the latest NVIDIA mGPU solution, the incredibly fast Gainward GeForce GTX 590 which is without doubt the fastest graphics card in the market currently (at stock clocks). Today we are taking things a step back to take a look at a single GPU card and more specifically the latest HIS Radeon HD 6950 2GB ICEQX TURBOX offering based on the best ATI/AMD GPU to date the Cayman.

Much like the HIS IceQ X Turbo X 6850 and 6870 we reviewed a while back the 6950 card also comes factory overclocked at 880MHz on the GPU and 1300MHz on the memory modules compared to the 800MHz/1250MHz of the stock version. This overclock may not be huge which automatically means that there should be room to push the card even further but even so not many companies dare to push their cards as much. However since the IceQ X cooler by HIS has managed to maintain a solid reputation of keeping temperatures quite lower than stock coolers over the years you shouldn't come across any issues.
