CONCLUSION

We have reached a place in time where even new companies produce very good products almost from the beginning and although i can't really predict if this will turn out to be a good thing still for the time being competition always benefits the consumer and that is certainly good. Fractal Design has been around for a short period of time and have already managed to make a name for themselves inside the EU not only due to their high quality solutions but also because of their design. As far as the Newton R2 800W goes it is a great power supply capable of powering a beast of a system without a glitch. Still the fact that it is not 80Plus Silver/Gold Certified may push some buyers to other solutions while the fact that they neglected to label the power connectors is bound to disappoint some users.

After a bit of searching i found the Newton R2 800W by Fractal Design at a price tag of 140Euros inside the EU while unfortunately the company has not yet pushed into the USA market. However according to Fractal Design it will be available in Q2 2010 for a price tag of 170$. For that price tag the Newton R2 800W is one of the best cost-effective solutions for people that wish to buy a good power supply but simply not the best one available and since the holidays are just around the corner saving money is not a bad idea. The Newton R2 800W may not be something spectacular in the PSU market, still its top quality and performance along with the fact that this is quite an accomplishment for a new company such as Fractal Design grand it the Editors Real Deal Award.
